Journey NGO is a non-profit, non governmental, mission-driven organization formed by a group of Maldivian recovering addicts, our primary goal is to strive against “Drug Addiction” the worst social problem faced by Maldivian society.
Our primary purpose is to educate, support and assist people who use drugs through outreach, referrals and other interventions, and to building the capacity of young people and island communities through education and skill, to effectively deter drug use and HIV by means of sustainable, evidence based strategies.
We are a unique organization, a network comprising of recovering drug users, our biggest challenge has been to change the traditional belief and social stigma “Once an Addict always an Addict” but we have proven again and again that Recovery is Possible, that an addict can become a responsible productive citizen of the community.
Thank you for taking the time to learn more about our Journey. Please consider signing up to join Journey’s online community on our Facebook page (https://www.facebook.com/journey.org.mv) and be knowledgeable of the issues as they arise. Most importantly we need your assistance in making a difference in the lives of people affected by drug addiction and to educate others before drug use begins.
We truly remain humbled by all the support and guidance we have received.
